This versatile smoothie is great as a breakfast on the go, an afternoon snack, or a mouth-watering dessert.
Containing an impressive 450 percent of the recommended daily value of vitamin A, an essential nutrient that promotes healthy eyes, and boasting an estimated glycemic load of just 16, this smoothie is just as healthy as it is delicious.
1/4 cup (60 mL) pumpkin purée
1/4 cup (60 mL) cooked, mashed, and cooled sweet potato
1/2 cup (125 ml) skim milk or milk alternative
1/4 cup (60 mL) low-fat plain yogurt
1/2 tsp (2 mL) cinnamon
1/2 tsp (2 mL) nutmeg
Place pumpkin and sweet potato in blender. Add milk and yogurt. Cover and blend on high until smooth.
Uncover and add cinnamon and nutmeg. Cover again and blend on high until well combined.
Uncover, pour into glass, and enjoy.
