Citrusy Green Tea Smoothie Bowl

Green tea and citrus each offer several health benefits, and, when consumed together, they enhance each other’s positive effects. Start your day with a burst of antioxidants, protein, and vitamins in this refreshing smoothie bowl. It’s a delicious way to support your immune system first thing in the morning.

Ingredients

  • 2 tsp (10 mL) matcha powder
  • 2 ripe bananas, frozen
  • 2 tangerines or small oranges, frozen
  • 1 cup (250 mL) spinach leaves
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 Tbsp (15 mL) honey
  • 1 Tbsp (15 mL) freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 scoop (2 Tbsp/30 mL) vegan vanilla protein powder
  • Toppings (such as fresh berries, tangerines, papaya slices, kiwi)

Directions

In blender, combine matcha powder, frozen bananas, tangerines or oranges, spinach, Greek yogurt, honey, lemon juice, and protein powder. Blend until thick and creamy.

Pour smoothie into bowl and add desired toppings. Serve immediately.
