To zhuzh up this dessert recipe, add 1/2 Tbsp (7 mL) of pure organic vanilla bean paste to the oat mixture to really meld the flavors and deepen the sweetness level without adding more sweetener.
Preheat oven to 350 F (180 C).
In saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat and swirl until it turns golden brown and has a nutty aroma. Set aside to cool.
In bowl, mix oats, almond flour, coconut sugar, pecans, and all spices. Mix until well combined.
In another bowl, toss sliced pears with maple syrup and half of browned butter.
Take remaining half of browned butter and mix into oat mixture.
Spread pears into a lightly greased or parchment-lined baking dish and sprinkle oat mixture overtop.
