Take the 30x30 Nature Challenge

Sign up for the David Suzuki Foundation’s 30x30 Nature Challenge, and get outside in nature in May for 30 minutes a day.

If you’re lucky, you live in a part of the world where spring has actually sprung. The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and you’re sitting in front of a computer or TV screen! Something’s wrong with this picture, and the David Suzuki Foundation just may have found a way to get you off your butt and out the door!

Get outdoors

May 1st kicks off the David Suzuki Foundation’s 30x30 Nature Challenge. Do you think you have what it takes to get outside in nature for 30 minutes for 30 days in May? Sign up on the David Suzuki website where you’ll answer a short online questionnaire about your habits. You’ll fill out another short questionnaire when your 30 days is up. The goal is to find out whether adding nature to your daily routine makes you happier, calmer, and healthier.

For those of you who live where winter is refusing to loosen its grip, you face an even bigger challenge. But the benefits of getting outdoors, no matter what the weather, have been scientifically proven.

Here are a few alive articles to get you pumped up.

Please let us know, via blog comment, Facebook, or Twitter, whether you’ve signed up for the challenge. And watch for the June issue of alive (it comes out in mid-May) where you’ll be able to continue the benefits you’ve accrued with our 12 Months of Wellness theme, Connect With Nature. I’ve signed up! It’s your turn.
