David Suzuki Foundation makes choosing sustainable seafood even easier

David Suzuki Foundation makes choosing sustainable seafood even easier with its new online resource, Eat for Healthy Oceans.

David Suzuki Foundation makes choosing sustainable seafood even easier with its new online resource, Eat for Healthy Oceans. With recipes, videos, information on community events, and of course, tips for choosing sustainable seafood, Eat for Healthy Oceans gives us the information we need to make informed decisions about our seafood choices.

Also available on Eat for Healthy Oceans are the downloadable wallet guides, SeaChoice Sustainable Seafood Guide, and Canada’s Sustainable Sushi Guide. With over 200 sushi restaurants in the city of Vancouver alone, Canada’s Sustainable Sushi Guide is a must-have for sushi lovers across the country. Among the best choices are wild Dungeness crab (kani), wild sea urchin (uni), and wild or pole-caught Albacore tuna (shiro maguro).

For those who want to commit to choosing only sustainable seafood, the online resource even has a place to pledge to Eat for Healthy Oceans. By voting with our wallets, we can push retailers and restaurants to carry only SeaChoice-approved options, and send the message to government leaders that we care about the fate of our oceans.

For more information about sustainable seafood, visit Eat for Healthy Oceans or check out our article “Great Catch,” complete with mouthwatering, ocean-friendly recipes such as Sweet and Sour Tomato Mussel Soup, Arctic Char with Strawberry Salsa and Green Beans, and Haddock with Saffron Broth and New Potatoes.
