Take the 30x30 Nature Challenge and get outdoors for 30 minutes every day in the month of May.
Spending time in nature makes me a much happier person. That’s why I’m participating in the David Suzuki Foundation’s 30x30 Nature Challenge.
I’m fortunate to live within a short walk of a beautiful forested park with trails that walkers, runners, mountain bikers, and dog walkers enjoy. When I enter the forest and breathe in its fresh green scent, I instantly feel calm and refreshed.
Last year I participated in the 30x30 Nature Challenge—and I highly recommend it! For the month of May, join me and pledge to spend 30 minutes a day in nature. You’ve still got time to sign up.
The benefits of spending time outdoors in nature are well documented—reduced stress, improved sense of well-being, and more positive mental outlook are just a few of the reasons to get off the couch, pull on your runners, and head to your nearest green space.
To shake things up a bit, I try to explore new parks as part of the Challenge so I also learn about my city—and I pick up garbage on the trails so I’m doing something to keep the environment beautiful too.
Sign up for the 30x30 Nature Challenge and let us know on Facebook or Twitter where you’ve gone and how you feel. Use May to start your own love affair with nature!
