Celebrate Natural Health Products Week!

Nov. 4 to 10 is NHP Week - show your support by visiting a natural health store near you and reading up on natural products!

Seven in 10 Canadians use natural health products. Are you one of them?

Natural Health Products (NHP) Week from November 4 to 10 is a time to celebrate our use of good-for-us and good-for-the-planet products—or maybe try some out for the first time. This annual event is the brainchild of the Canadian Health Food Association (CHFA), and it’s easy to get involved.

Visit your local health food store

Any excuse to shop is okay by me, so I’ll be perusing my local health store to stock up on some extra goodies this week. With clouds and longer nights on the horizon, some encapsulated sunshine in the form of vitamin D supplements is at the top of my list.

Some health food stores also put on promotions to coincide with NHP Week. Pop in to see what retailers near you are doing, and take the opportunity to ask any burning questions you may have about supplements and other natural products. The “find a natural health retailer” tool on our homepage is the perfect place to start if you’re a bit lost about how to locate a store that doesn’t start with whole and end in foods.

Get in on the conversation

Tweet CHFA using the hashtag #NHPweek, or visit their Facebook to share your stories.

Read on!

CHFA has gone all out in 2013, with a five-part guide that breaks down natural health products into simple sections: supplement essentials for the whole family, green cleaning 101, healthy hygiene, going organic, and crafting your natural first aid kit.

And check out these alive articles for more tips on how natural health products can help keep us healthy, happy, and glowing from the inside out.

Are there any natural health products that you buy on a regular basis? Let us know in the comments below, or on Facebook and Twitter.
