Over the weekend, alive attended the 6th annual Fraser Valley Food Show, and had a blast!
Over the weekend, I had the opportunity to check out the 6th annual Fraser Valley Food Show (that’s me in the photo above, excited to hit the booths). As its website states, “The Fraser Valley Food Show celebrates the 155 years of bountiful Fraser Valley harvest under one roof.” What better way to spend an autumn day than celebrating the local harvest?
So what’s a food show?
For those who haven’t attended a food show before, here’s how it generally works: retailers, manufacturers, artisans, and restaurants get together at one location (in this case, Tradex Exhibition Centre in Abbotsford) to celebrate all things delicious!
The companies set up booths featuring products to buy, foods to sample, and special promotions. It’s a great opportunity to branch out and try new things, and also to chat with the people behind the brands.

The verdict?
A fun day with great food. Check out the Fraser Valley Food Show’s website to plan your trip next year.
Not in the neighbourhood? Many cities have their own food shows. No need to be a chef or diehard foodie to attend: they’re a great idea for a casual date day, family outing, or even attending solo. You’ll be wowed by all the amazing local food and you might even discover some hidden gems of restaurants near you. Just remember to show up hungry!
