#2013alive: Make it Visual

Welcome to month 4, week 4 of our 12 Months of Wellness. This week, we make vision boards.

April’s week 4 goal may be one of my personal favourites. It’s a ton of fun, doesn’t take long to do, and serves a purpose long after you’ve finished. What is it? A vision board of course!

Vision boards act as visual inspiration—every time we look at them, we can be motivated to achieve our dreams. Essentially, they’re collages of images, words, photos, or magazine/newspaper clipping that, together, represents your goals for achieving your bliss.

No rules!

Make no mistakes—this isn’t a school project and you’re not being graded on it. Your vision board is for yourself only.

Maybe you want to make it a collage with powerful images only, or maybe you’d love to include inspiring quotes. Maybe your vision board has the same theme throughout, or maybe you’d like it to be divided into different sections for different aspects of your life. In short, there are no rules!

We had our own vision board-making workshop at the alive office! We stocked up on poster boards, recycled magazines, markers, scissors, glue sticks; met in the alive boardroom; and had a ton of fun creating our vision boards. Afterward, we shared them with each other, and posted them at our desks for inspiration. It’s great to be able to be inspired every time I look at my vision board during my work day.

Follow us!

Tell us about your vision board making! Are you going to make your board alone? With some friends? At work? Drop us a line via blog or Facebook comments, or by using the Twitter hashtag #2013alive to let us know how you’re doing on your 2013 journey!

Plus, tune in to find out how we’re doing by checking our ongoing Twitter, Facebook, and blog posts. You might even see some pictures of our alive staff vision boards!  And, if you haven’t already done so, download April’s goal sheet to track your progress
