Step away from the desk! Stretch your legs and eat lunch outside with your coworkers.
The first week of June is coming to a close, and we’re looking ahead to week 2 of our 12 Months of Wellness series. This month we’re finding ways to connect with nature. I hope you had fun this week exploring a new park in your neighbourhood.
Next week we’re getting outside—to eat lunch!
Research shows that it’s not good for us to sit at our desks all day. Sitting for long periods of time puts us at risk for diabetes and cardiovascular problems. Not to mention, staring at a computer screen can cause eye strain and cause us to veg out after checking out one too many cute cat videos and gossip websites (I mean, do all that research!).
Let’s hope for good weather for the weekend, and for next week. Perhaps your company has picnic tables, or you can walk to a nearby park to eat your lunch.
Tweet us a photo of your outdoor lunch with the #2013alive hashtag, or post a blog or Facebook comment about what you’re planning to bring for a healthy lunch. Check out alive.com for our healthy lunch ideas.
