Its week 2 of August on our 12 Months of Wellness journey. This week, were having fun in our communities.
Last week for our 12 Months of Wellness journey, we learned about our communities through websites, community centres, newspapers, and brochures. This week, it’s time to put all our research to good use by having fun in our communities!
And what better way to start off than by pretending to be a tourist? When we’ve lived in the same place for a long time, it’s easy to stick to the same routine and only visit the same places (think: grocery store, coffee shop, gym, movie theatre). And although there’s no need to don a fanny pack, map, or other tacky tourist garb, doing things typically reserved for those new in town really does help to see your community in a new light. So this week, pay a visit to the art gallery, local museum, or nature centre—whatever it is, just have fun!
