1 1/2 cups water
1 vegetable bouillon cube
1 tbsp. butter or heavy cream
1 bay leaf
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. thyme, dried
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 tsp. onion powder
2 tbsp. yeast flakes
sage, rosemary and pepper to taste
1 tsp. lemon juice (optional)
In a saucepan, slightly roast whole wheat flour. Let cool. Stir in water and bring to a boil. Add other ingredients except cream and lemon juice. Let simmer for approximately 2 minutes. Remove bay leaf. Add cream or butter and lemon juice. Season to taste.
