Nowadays, both men and women are enjoying the luxurious and stress-relieving benefits of going to the spa. According to the International Spa Association (ISPA), at least 28 per cent of spa-goers are men, and they're spending more than $3 billion a year on beauty products and procedures. Spas are also about getting back to the basics of healing. More people than ever are going to the spa to escape into serenity and forget about the world's troubles for a while. According to the ISPA:
- The number-one treatment for men is massage, which is helpful for sports recovery and back injuries. Pedicures and facials are also popular.
- No more borrowing the wife's beauty products-men are now using products designed specifically for them. Find a spa that offers natural products to treat both mind and body without health-damaging chemicals.
- To make men feel more comfortable, spas are changing their decor to include "warm, earthy" colours, and are offering signature services for men such as golf or tennis/spa packages and sports clinics.
