    Brazilian Avocado Smoothie

    Brazilians have a way with avocados. Avocado shakes and smoothies are a regular part of their diet and can be made sweet or savoury. It’s a healthy and flavourful way to put a bounce in your step first thing in the morning!

    2 cups (500 mL) unsweetened almond milk
    1 avocado, peeled and chopped
    1 Tbsp (15 mL) lemon juice
    1 tsp (5 mL) natural vanilla extract
    3 Tbsp (45 mL) wildflower honey
    4 ice cubes

    Place all ingredients in blender and whirl until smooth. Taste and add more honey, if you wish.

    Serves 2.

    Each serving contains: 247 calories; 2 g protein; 12 g total fat (2 g sat. fat, 0 g trans fat); 36 g carbohydrates; 6 g fibre; 177 mg sodium
