    Energy Enhancement Juice

    A mild tonic for the liver as well as high in vitamin C, strawberries can be fresh or frozen. Let frozen berries thaw a bit before putting through the juicer or blender.

    Wash and put through juicer:
    2 cups (500 mL) strawberries, hulled
    2 carrots, unpeeled
    1 orange, peeled, leave white pith on
    1 cup (250 mL) kale or other dark greens, packed

    If making in a blender: put 3/4 cup (180 mL) water in blender, add cut-up produce, and blend until smooth. Pour into a nut milk bag or cheesecloth, twist, and apply gentle pressure to get all the liquid out. Discard pulp.

    Serves 1.

    Each serving contains: 249 calories; 7 g protein; 2 g total fat (0 g sat. fat, 0 g trans fat); 58 g carbohydrates; 14 g fibre; 131 mg sodium
