It has been in my heart, literally, to share my personal testimony about my care as a patient of Dr. Castillo’s Clinic.
I went to see Dr. Castillo in 1987. I was diagnosed with arteriosclerosis (hardening of arteries). My total blood cholesterol level was around 400—a normal level is below 200. I started treatment therapy with Dr. Castillo’s program immediately.
A few years later Dr. Castillo found through blood testing that I have a condition known as polycythemia vera; my bone marrow keeps producing red blood cells and doesn't know when to stop. My blood gets so thick that I am prone to heart attack and stroke. Dr. Castillo recommended therapeutic phlebotomy (bleeding) for my polycythemia vera. My primary physician followed Dr. Castillo’s advice.
I have heard Dr. Castillo say many times that the biggest danger anyone might have about their condition is ignorance. He has certainly given me an education about what I have. My doctors in Arizona say that what I have been doing at Dr. Castillo’s clinic in Mexico has probably kept me alive.
Based on my own observations of the standard of care that I have received, I think that Dr. Castillo and his staff are the best diagnosticians I have ever met.
I am happy to report that on my last visit to the clinic, in February 2002, my cholesterol was 134, my HDL level was 58, my LDL level was 56.2 and my triglycerides were 99. My hematocrit is 41.2. These are all excellent readings.
If it were not for Dr. Castillo, his staff, and the standard of care that they give with their programs, I probably would not be here today.
I hope this talk from my heart will help someone else.
