| My skin is already starting to get dry and scaly and I'm worried what will happen with winter weather. What can I do to keep it smooth and supple? |

To maintain a glowing complexion this winter, incorporate three additional steps to your weekly skin regimen:
1. Exfoliate. Get rid of the outer layer of dead skin cells to make way for new cells to grow. This process will leave your skin looking smoother, brighter, and more vibrant. Exfoliate three or four times a week using a gentle exfoliation product that includes natural ingredients such as milk, oatmeal, and fruit enzymes.
2. Deep moisturize. During cold weather your regular moisturizer may not be enough to replenish nutrients and moisture into the skin. Select a light moisturizer that contains active ingredients such as vitamins C and E, grapeseed extract, hyaluronic acid, apricot kernel oil, almond oil, and aloe vera. These active ingredients penetrate the skin's surface to seal in moisture and provide anti-aging benefits. Avoid using moisturizers that contain harsh cosmetic chemicals such as mineral oil, propylene glycol, and artificial fragrances. They can cause the skin to become dry and irritated.
3. Detoxify. Incorporate facial steaming into your weekly routine once or twice a week. This can be done at home, at a spa during a facial treatment, or simply by sitting in a steam room for a few minutes at your local health club.
Steaming helps to remove impurities from the skin caused from environmental exposure and leaves the skin looking and feeling more youthful.
Follow this skin care routine and your skin will look its best all year around. |

Moisturize from the inside out:

...and i'm not talking about drinking more water, it's all about diet and healthy fats. :-) |

I recently visited my Naturopath regarding a dry skin patch I have on my face (around my mouth/nose). She explained to me that most dry skin occurances in this area are due to low zinc levels in the body. I've since been taking zinc supplements and have been eating more food with high zinc content (pumpkin seeds, flaxseed, etc) and have noticed a big difference.
She also suggested increasing my intake of fish to three times a week as the fatty acid in fish has a moisturizing affect on the body. |

| It seems that you are having a dry skin just like me. I used to be scared of the winter season, as because of my dry skin, which used to get worse in the winter. But for a couple of years, I am absolutely comfortable about the winter. I started using an herbal based lotion, which was recommended by my beautician. I have found it quite suitable for my skin. You can at least give it a try for once, as because it’s purely natural and do not have any side effect. |

I have found for me that in winter I get very dry and itchy skin where as in summer I never get this, certain things make the skin on my legs drier.
If you get dry itchy skin in winter - DON'T be Tempted to take really hot showers - my experience is this dries the skin even further.
Also I just slap on loads of vitamin e cream which stops the dryness and itching - but you have to do it daily - especially at night when the dryness seems worse for some reason
Hope that helped.
I also agree that drinking more water helps I noticed that too. |

Cold weather means indoor heating which will have an adverse affect on your skin. To combat the drying affects, switch to a heavier moisturizing cream to add much-needed hydration. Lock in moisture by doing this while your face is still wet.
Avoid baths and showers that are too hot, and cool the water before you get out. Your skin will retain more moisture this way and you won't go through the temperature shock so much when you get out. Rub in body lotion on your arms and legs and feet, particularly on your elbows and knees.
Use eye cream at night to combat dryness. If you do this on a regular basis, you'll probably notice a reduction of fine lines and wrinkles. Get your beauty sleep to lower stress and put your best face forward.
hope these tips can help u! thanks |

| I've been using organic coconut oil at night as a body moisturizer and it is amazing how soft and moisturized my skin is. I highly recommend it! |

| When my skin gets dry or scaly spots, I pull out my stick of 100% Cocoa Butter, heat it up with a lighter or candle and rub it in. It heals and smoothes in wondermous ways and you can by the sticks (which last a long time) for about $1 at any drug store. |
