Last June I was diagnosed with PMR (Polymyalgia Rheumatica) Overnight I developed slight muscle soreness which for me was very unusual. I golf 3x/week, walk daily and generally lead a healthy lifestyle.

Fortunately I have an excellent Dr. and had an appt a few days after onset of soreness to discuss bi-yearly blood test results - I mentioned my soreness to him and he immediately told me what it was and drew blood which confirmed I had the disease and that it was autoimmune.

Prednisone seems to be the medication of choice but I chose to try an anti-inflammatory for a month without any relief as symptoms progressivly became worse and even turning over in bed or going up stairs was very painful. I started Prednisone and had immediate relief and am now in the process of reducing the prednisone in hopes that by Sept this yar I will be completely off the drug.

Anyone else out there with the same diagnosis that would like to share their progress etc

Thank you for answering. I have thought of acupuncture especially since we have a chiropractor that could do it. I am still on Prednisone and have noticed the more I reduce the more I feel aches in my knees and hands along with the muscle weakness.

I shall try it!
