I'm curious to hear from people of all types, what do you think about the ways in which parenting is portrayed on television? I'm not really looking to start a "TV is BAD" conspiracy forum. Their is no one answer that can cover it all. But looking for specifics, from dramas, sitcoms, movies, commercials.
Just wondering where you see comparisons or not.

For instance, Kath & Kim (the one on NBC Thursdays, I haven't seen the one from Australia). A mother who usually means well, but seriously doesn't pay attention enough to be a good "child raiser", is someone's parent, like it or not. And that someone, Kim, seems to have gotten the short end of the stick when it comes to motivation, etiquette or brains. And I wonder, do you know someone out there that lives like this?

We are all dysfunctional. I've never met a family that wasn't "off" in one way or another. We like to think we had a singular set of "family values" to teach and promote. But we don't. It's just life, and us living it as best we can (or have energy for at the time).

So I'd like to hear which TV parents are like the ones you know.
