Can someone let me know how they feel about the use of Aveda Hair care products and the skin care. I like to know if anyone had experienced allergy reactions from it and how they feel about the product and price of it too.
Im one who is sensitive and breaks out into rashes. So, I like to know about the organic alternative to other professional hair and skin products.
 Thanks. |

Can you also list the professional products you like using? and why? and
What you like better organic brands or regular brands for hair products and skin care?
Thanks again

| I went to an Aveda salon for a haircut and got a whole-body allergic reaction just from the hair spray and styling cream they used! I got eczema all over my hands, developed astma-like coughs as well as headaches. I couldn't believe that all this occured just because of a little hairspray! I researched Aveda allergy reports on the Internet and found out other people were experiencing the same thing from other products including hair colour and lotions. It is totally wrong for Aveda to be doing this to people! Now I have to spend time and money searching for eczema and asthma remedies - who knew?! |

| My wife and I both had massages at a fairly well to do spa and both have irritation from use of Aveda body lotions. There may be something in the essential oils used. I have a low level itch, my wife has an extensive rash after using a free sample. |

| Thanks a lot for your information, because I was thinking to buy Aveda Products. But after watching this post I’ve changed my decision. |

I just bought Aveda new Green Science skin care system and broke out with the most aweful rash all over my face and neck where I had applied the lotions. My face is actullay swollen too. When I've used Aveda hairspray it made my head itch. Don't buy it!
I usually use Origins and it's a great skin care line. I've used it for 15 years and never ever had any problems with anything. |

| Hi- I unfortunatly have experienced a skin reaction to the new Aveda green science firming face cream. I know you posted your message awhile ago but I was just on line trying to find out if others had experienced what I had. My cheeks got bumpy and itchy. I have a tan right now as it is summer so the rash was not noticable but it was uncomfortable. I am not usually prone to skin reactions. |

| Hi! I too had an itchy rash after a message at an Aveda salon (glad I'm not the only one). I was just wondering if anyone knows which essential oils are used so I can avoid them. I can't seem to find product ingredients on the web. thanks! |

I too developed a horrible rash on my face and neck from using the Aveda Green Science firming face cream. It is very itchy, red, inflammed & hot to touch. I sought some relief from the pharmacy with Benadryl Cream.
I was so disappointed because I thought I bought a product that was all natural and would be so great for my skin.
I am normally not sensitive to products so this really baffled me. |

Most Aveda products are good, but for the best information I would go to cosmeticdatabase.com to see which products are safer.
It will list products by how harmful they are.
I must have thrown out almost all of my cosmetics/shampoos and skin care after seeing how horrible they were and I was using YSL, Channel, MAC,Estee Lauder, Origins and even Clinique!
You will be shocked at the fact that some manufatcutures call their products "organic" and they are really full of presevatives that you should avoid.
Burts Bees has a great shampoo conditioner as does a company called Shikaii.
Most health food stores will carry these.
Miesscence from Australia is a superb line of products and can be bought on-line.
Hopes that helps |

| I haven't used any Aveda products. I generally use herbal skin care and hair care products. I believe they're less harmful for my skin. I usually purchase skin/hair care products from naturalplaza.com site. Also I use several homemade recipes to make my skin beautiful. |

| I have had a reaction twice now from the Aveda hair color. I don't know if my body is triggered by the smells in the salon or the actual placing of the hair color, but as soon as it is placed on my head I get nausea and my scalp gets hot, almost burning. As soon as they rinse my head I feel better. It's weird because I have been using this product for at least 6 months and just started with the reaction last month? Thanks for your feedback. |

| I am glad that I am reading these posts because I now know that I am not imagining it. I dont have sensitive skin at all, and the Aveda Phomolient makes my head tingle and itch. I have been using it for a couple years now and never made the connection. I even went to the doctor because my head was tingling. What a waste. My husband tried the stuff and said - I dont like that stuff because it makes my head itch. ONE TIME! I should have had him try it years ago....... |

|
|
| After using the Aveda Green Science Facial Firming cream for several weeks, I suddenly developed a painful burning and itchy rash on my face and neck. The rash then spread to my chest, arms and legs. My face swelled to the point that I could not open one of my eyes. It took three weeks for my symptoms to go away. Not realizing that the facial cream was cause of my problems, I started using the cream again when my skin was feeling better and now I'm going through the whole process again. These postings confirmed for me that I am severly allergic to this facial cream. I am taking Zyrtec and applying a topical sterroid to help manage the painful rash. I plan to write a letter to Aveda and hope that others will consider writing to the company as well. |
