| You know the characteristic smell of Aveda products? Whatever is in it is horrible for me. When I have to sit in a classroom within 20 feet of someone using Aveda I get dizzy and nauseous and I can hardly take notes. I wish all Aveda products could be banned! |

I also wanted to add to my other posting was I went to see my allergy doctor and she informed me that Aveda is one of the most highly allergic products on the market!!!! she even mentioned a paient was hospitalized due to Aveda.
I worked in a Aveda salon for years and the products are horrible, they leave your hair limp, greasy, and very itchy.the skin care line is nothing at all to brag about, and I believe the green science broke people out it has very iritating ingrendents in it .
While employed at a Aveda salon I had to have a air cleaner put in the salon so I could breathe because this crap made me have breatheing problems,I would not reomend anyone to use this line nor work with it.
I think Aveda is alot of hype you are aying for overly expensive aroma but I call this line "witches brew" because it is!!. |

I have used aveda three times for hair coloring at a salon.
Each time I have experienced scalp itch to the point of insanity.
I asked my hair dresser about it and she had never heard of such
a thing. I will not use this product again.
I heard it can cause more health problems , via the web, if I continue
usage. Better safe then sorry.
Prior to this I was using Goldwell with no trouble. I will have to go back to
that product.
Another web site, healthhype.com/hair-dye-allergies.html
had a write up on the allergic reactions to hair dye. The culprit
was PPD . Very informative. |

I've had many facials in salons using Aveda products and have never had a reaction. Yesterday, I had their new Brightening facial, and my skin looked fantastic afterwards. About one hour later, I felt my eyes becoming itchy, and they continued to feel itchy all evening. When I woke up this morning, I had a red spot almost between my eyes, and my face was extremely swollen. I have taken something from the drug store for itchy eyes, and I also went to the eye doctor for a fitting, and he gave me eye drops to stop the itching. I can't believe it!

| I washed my hair with the Aveda rosemary mint shampoo and conditioner on Monday night, then went to sleep. I woke up a few hours later, and my eyes were completely swollen, red and itchy. The skin was tight, they were so swollen. I washed my face, put on cold compresses, took benadryl, nothing really worked. It's been several days now and the swelling is almost gone, but the skin on my face between my lower forehead and mouth is all rough. It feels like fine sandpaper. Yesterday I developed an itchy red rash all over my upper body. I have got to find out what this is so I can avoid it in the future! |

Just wanted to mention that Aveda's new Enbrightenment line may trigger allergies as well. Although the bumps from the rash have gone away after stopping use for a week, my face is still very itchy, tight, hot and red with rough spots. Does anyone have a list of ingredients? I found the following site for a complaint about Prevage: www.andreaharner.com/archives/ 2006/04/thank_you_prevage.html . She shows pictures of her face and lists the ingredients. I'm hoping to find the offending ingredient. Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

| Well...for my birthday, I treated myself to an entire host of Aveda skin care products and after reading these posts and sitting with elephant-face, I wish I hadn't! My earlobes even burn and itch...my eyes are so swollen that I've been unrecognizable for days. I spent hundreds thinking that I was doing my skin a favor only to now realize, I'm allergic to my new, expensive skin care products. Thank goodness for the internet. At least I won't run up the doctor bills and will just dump the products! Has anyone taken their products back for a refund? Does anyone know which product it is that may be causing the sensitivity for some of us? I use the Green line (firming gel). I also use the eye cream and moisturizer of the same line. Not to mention the exfoliant and the lavendar and rose oils. Like I said...I bought hundreds of dollars worth. |

| I returned the two products I bought that caused my allergic reaction. They accepted the return without any problem. When I wrote to Aveda to get their ingredient list they said I had to call them. But I didn't. I sort of doubt they'll give the whole list since I think I read somewhere that it was proprietary. Hope you feel better soon. |

I went in as part of a bridal party for a hairstyle run-through at a local salon on Friday for my friend's wedding the following weekend, and the stylist used Aveda product for the hold. I should have said no!! I have pretty sensitive skin, with eczema, and should have known better.
On Monday morning I was at work and my neck and chin start to feel bumpy, just like goosebumps breaking out all over. Luckily they were invisible to everyone else, but now it's Thursday night I'm getting itchier. The bumps come and go day by day and I'm wondering how long they will last. The wedding is on Sunday, and I am in another wedding next weekend! I even went to see a doctor this morning because these bumps were freaking me out and I thought it was more than just an allergic reaction. Still, I wish I knew about Aveda products earlier. Even now I am reading through others' reviews and am scared that I won't be able to see out of swollen eyes come the weekend... I am steering clear of Aveda! |

| I have used Aveda products for years with no problems until recently. I bought the Chakra body spray, and it leaves a fine, red and itchy rash in the areas applied. Must be something they are using as a base that is causing problems. |

| I have used Aveda hair products for years and have never had a reaction. Then, I received a sample of the Aveda Green Science Firming Face Cream. I used it for 2 days only. On the second day I woke up with an itchy, red feeling on my cheeks. Over the rest of my face I see tiny "invisible" bumps. Thankfully, I have not developed a severe painful rash. I do wish to know, however, that for those of you who have similar symptoms as myself, how long did it take to go away? Did you need to see a doctor? It appears as though some of bumps on my face are starting to dry up on their own. The tiny invisible bumps seem to be filled with clear liquid so I popped a small area to see if this will dry up on it's own. Any thoughts from anyone? Thanks! |

| I used their enbrightenment line and had also developed little invisible bumps and sometimes rash, it took me about 2-3 days for the bumps to completely go away and have my pores shrink back to its normal size. During those 2-3 days my skin would become really oily from forehead to chin, and I don't have oily skin. |

| I too started using the Aveda firming facial creme after getting a facial. I used it for about a week and started breaking out in a rash and itching all over my face and neck. I called Aveda and they had no response. I am now taking benedryl and putting cold compresses on my face as well as Caladryl lotion. My dog has also been itching very badly, I think I have gotten this product on her also. I do not recommend this product at all |
