Stylist Dalida Dagher of Marc Anthony’s salon on Avenue Road in Toronto offers some quick tips for gorgeous hair everyday. “Don’t wash hair daily because it needs the natural oils from the scalp to stay strong,” she says. To prevent flat, dull hair, rub baby powder or baking soda on hair, especially bangs, to soak up oil. Or look for special hair powders at beauty boutiques. Dagher recommends a Velcro roller or a terry cloth headband to pull bangs back when washing or moisturizing the face. Face wash and lotions can make hair greasy. Try an on-trend hair band or the classic pony. For a polished look, the ponytail should sit at the nape of the neck. Dagher advises taking a strand of hair, wrapping it around the elastic, and criss-crossing two bobby pins underneath the pony to hold it in place. Keep hair looking fresh–don’t touch it too much. “Use blotting papers on your forehead throughout the day,” says Dagher. “Grease on your forehead and fingers sticks to bangs.” Magazine editor Michelle Bilodeau has worked at Flare, Weekly Scoop, and Fashion magazines.
